15th September - Paris to London

15.9.10 - Paris to London
This morning we had a bit of a sleep in as we didn’t have to leave the apartment until 10.15 am. We had a bit of breakky and packed all our stuff up, then we went for a walk to a great patisserie around the corner.  Tom and I had a large slice of custard tart, Luke had a slice of rasberry tart and mum and dad had a sultana snail. We walked back to the apartment and waited for our taxi to the train station. Martine, (the lady that looked after the apt) came and said goodbye to us as we left. We had to go through Paris customs and then U.K customs as we were leaving France and entering U.K. We went through security and found some seats to sit and wait for our train. We were in carriage 4 of our eurostar train, the trip was good although Luke suffered from motion sickness and spent most of his time in the bathroom. The journey took 2 hours and we arrived in London at 1.30pm, we waited in line for a taxi and made our way to our apartment in Knightsbridge. It has a large bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, dining, large loungeroom and tom and my bed pulls out of the wall!!  It is in a great spot just down the road from Hyde Park and 2 min walk to Harrods.  Mum had a look in the real estate window and apartments here are for sale beginning from 1,250,000.00 pounds the dearest one we saw was a penthouse overlooking Hyde Park for 25,000,000.00 (million) pounds!!!  We unpacked and went straight out and caught the Big Red Open Top Tourist Bus that we could hop on and off at all the different sites around London. We were hungry as we hadn’t had lunch so stopped for some pizza and then jumped on another bus that took us past Big Ben, Tower Bridge, London Eye, Westminster Abbey, St Pauls Cathedral, we stayed on the bus as it was about 6.30pm and very cold. At the end of the bus trip we caught a taxi back near home and went into a great pub for dinner. There was 2 games of football on the big screens, Arsenal were playing as well was Chelsea so we could watch both games while we were having dinner. We walked to Sainsbury’s supermarket and brought some cereal and bread and stuff for back at our apartment and walked back home.  A very long day!!
